'Stand Up For Nigel Barton' was the first of two comedies written by Dennis Potter which took a wry look at British politics. The second Potter play was called 'Vote, Vote, Vote for Nigel Barton'. Both plays were shown as part of the 'Wednesday Play' slot - a series which ran from 1964 to 1970.
